How to invest through different entities like LLCs, trusts, or funds
Many investors choose to invest through multiple entities—an individual account, an LLC, a trust, or a separate fund. This guide explains how to manage multiple investment profiles on Seed Labs.
Currently, one email address on Seed Labs maps to one investment profile. This means that if you want to invest via both your personal account and a separate entity (such as an LLC, trust, or fund), you'll need to log in with a different email address for each entity.
The easiest way to create multiple accounts while still receiving all emails in a single inbox is to use the plus pattern (also known as email aliasing). Most email providers, including Gmail, support this feature.
Simply add a + followed by any identifier after your email username but before the @ symbol. All emails sent to these addresses will arrive in your main inbox.
Let's say your primary email is johndoe@gmail.com. Here's how you might set up different investment profiles:
johndoe@gmail.com — Individual investmentsjohndoe+trust@gmail.com — Investments via your family trustjohndoe+llc@gmail.com — Investments via your LLCjohndoe+fund@gmail.com — Investments via your fundEach of these email addresses creates a separate Seed Labs account with its own investment profile, but all communications will arrive in your johndoe@gmail.com inbox for your convenience.
If you are logged into Seed Labs with an account that has a profile already set up and are looking to invest through a different entity, perform the following steps:
Repeat this process for each entity you want to invest through.
