You can allocate a portion of your carry to one or more recipients directly on Seed Labs using the Carry Share feature.
There are two ways to share carry, and you must choose one method for the entire deal vehicle—you cannot mix and match.
With deal-level carry, you share a percentage of the entire fund's carry payout with others.
By default, the initial carry recipient (the advisor) receives 100% of the carry. When setting up a carry share agreement, you enter a value from 0 to 100 representing the percentage of your total carry you want to share.
For example, if the total carry payout is $1,000,000 and you share 40% with a deal partner, they will receive $400,000.
With investor-level carry, you share the carry earned on specific investors with someone else. The math works the same way, but is calculated on an investor-by-investor basis.
For example, if a specific LP's distribution generates $100,000 in carry and you've agreed to share 10% with a deal partner, they will receive $10,000 from that LP's carry.
